Need help with a knitting project (like a baby gift)? Want some one-on-one assistance to master a new technique (like short-row shaping) or brush up on a forgotten skill (like buttonholes)?
These are scheduled by appointment with a charge of $20 per one-hour sesson.
Design Your Own Class
If you have 2 friends who would like to learn a new technique or complete a project, let us know your availability and we will try to schedule a class and an instructor just for you. A minimum of 2 students is needed.

Introduction to Knitting
Not sure that you want to commit to a lot of time or money for learning to knit. Try this one session class to learn the basics of knitting and decide if you want to go further. Bring a friend or two and you'll save on course costs. You will learn casting-on, knitting and purling stiches, and casting off. Class project is a coaster or pot holder. Handouts and instructions provided by instructor.

Sock Basics
If you hate double-pointed needles, this is the class for you! Learn how to use one long circular needle to knit a simple sock while learning the basics of sock construction. Techniques include knitting in the round, knitting a heel flap, turning the heel, picking up stitches for gussets, and grafting the toes closed. and you do have the option to use double-pointed needles or two circular needles. The instructor will provide hand-outs and the sock pattern. You must be able to cast on, knit and purl to take this class. For Advanced beginners.

Bella's Mittens (inspired by the movie Twilight)
These were inspired by mittens worn by Kristen Stewart in the movie "Twilight" and use a pattern designed by Mariele Henault. They are long so they'll keep your arms warm and they have a knock-out horseshoe cable on the back. Pattern and instructions provided by instructor. For Adventurous Beginners or Intermediate Knitters.

Reversible Cable Scarf
Scarves are quick and easy fashion accessories and you don't have to worry about gauge! Cables give beautiful texture to a scarf and reversible cables mean that the cables look good on both sides of your scarf. In this class, you'll learn the basics and then move on to the magic of reversible cables. For Adventurous Beginners.

Elizabeth Zimmerann's "Baby Surprise Jacket"
Let us take the surprise out of Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise Jacket. "It looks like nothing on earth when you have finished knitting it. Sew up two seams and you find you have the nicest little garter-stitch baby sweater you could wish to see, reversible, and with no side or armhole seems to look ill-fitting or feel uncomfortable." Instructions for collar and hood included with the pattern. Depending upon your yarn and needle size, this sweater can be made to fit newborns up to 2 year-olds.
For Advanced Beginner Knitters.

Introduction to Fair Isle Knitting
Fair Isle (as well as other Nordic and Andean) patterns get their beauty from knitting with two or more colors. This class provides an easy introduction to this knitting technique and also will teach the basics of hat construction, knitting-in-the-round, working with double-pointed & circular needles, and reaching charts. You will be able to pick up one of four two-color patterns and one of four hat styles (gathered or peaked top, short or long) to places you or to make a personalized gift.

Learn New Cable & Aran Techniques with Simple Blocks from the Great American Aran Afghan Book
If you sign up for 4 classes, cost is $110 (book included in this fee)
You can also sign up for just the sessions that interest you - cost is $30 for each session, plus purchase of the book (available at 10% discount and required for the season because of copyright laws)
Do you love the look of Aran sweaters, but don't want to cope with the complexities of gauge or don't want to knit a whole seather? The Great American Aran Afghan book has directions.

| Finishing Workshop
So, you knit all the pieces, but now you need some help putting them together or finishing the edges? Are you never happy with your seams and would like to learn some different techniques for sewing seams in your sweater? Are you a great knitter, but now they're asking you to reverse a cingle crochet around the next edge and you've never used a crochet hook? Bring your almost complete project(s) and we'll help you finally finish them.
